🚫 What NOT to Bring

Let’s make this simple. Before I tell you what to pack, let’s talk about what to leave the hell at home. Some of this will repeat in other sections — and that’s good. Repetition saves your back (and your wallet).

👉 Rule No. 1: Don’t bring anything you’d cry over if it gets lost, broken, or stolen.
👉 Rule No. 2: Don’t bring heavy crap. Almost everything can be bought on the road.

💎 Valuables

Leave your treasures at home. Most people aren’t thieves — but why risk it?
If you insist on wearing your Rolex, fine — there are so many fakes out there you’ll blend in anyway.

👔 Fancy clothes

Unless you’re heading to the poles, expensive clothes are useless.
Locals will see you as a walking ATM. Why attract more overpricing?
And if you really get the urge to wear Dior, Asian markets will gladly sell it to you — fake but convincing.

👖 Jeans & cotton T-shirts

Heavy. Slow to dry. Soak up sweat like a sponge.
There are better fabrics for travel — quick-drying and lightweight.

💻 Laptop

If it’s not work-critical, leave it.
You don’t need Netflix or 24/7 online life. And if you end up in a hostel, you’ll just have one more thing to worry about.

📚 Books

Books weigh a ton. Once you finish one, you’ll drag it the rest of the trip.
Even e-readers aren’t great on the beach — unless you want to donate yours to the sea.
Best options: magazines you can toss… or audiobooks in your phone. Perfect for noisy buses and night trains.

🧳 Metal junk when flying

Ditch the belts with metal buckles, steel-toed shoes, and jackets with heavy zippers.
Breeze through airport security like a boss of the airport while others hold up their pants.

👟 Brand new shoes

Unless you enjoy bleeding heels, don’t break in new shoes mid-trip. Wear something proven and comfortable.

📷 Anything that screams “burden”

If you don’t need it, don’t pack it “just in case.”
Travel light. Be faster. Be freer.

🔥 Pro Tips:

  • That “just in case” pile on your bed? Cut it in half. Then again.

  • If you can’t carry it up a flight of stairs without swearing — it’s too much.

  • Comfort > fashion. Always.

  • Don’t travel to impress strangers. Travel to live.
